This is the Hebrew month of Nissan (April 1 - 30). It is the month
of "Behold!"; a time to show and reveal. There is much to behold
this month. It is a month to see and receive revelation. He will
speak in the night sky tomorrow when we observe a blood moon. Blood
moons are total lunar eclipses that cause the moon to appear reddish orange
in color. There have been many such eclipses in the last five thousand
years. However, it is less typical to have four blood moons in a two-year
period-- called a tetrad. Most unusual of all is to have a tetrad
where all four eclipses occur on Jewish Feast days. In the last two
thousand years there have only been 62 tetrads out of some 3,000 plus lunar
eclipses. Only 8 of these four eclipse triads fell on Jewish feast days.
In the last 600 years, tetrads have occurred on Jewish feast
days in 1492 (the year Columbus sailed and all Jews were expelled from
Spain); 1949 -1950 (Israel became a nation in 1948); and in 1967-68 (Israel's
6-day War occurred in 1967). On all these occasions there
were four blood moons occurring on feast days as well as significant
historical events. In this present century, 2000- 2100, eight tetrads will
occur but only in 2014 -15 will they appear on Jewish feast days: Passover
(4-15-14); Sukkot (10-8-14); Passover(
4-4-15); and Sukkot ( 9-28-15). In
the middle will be a full solar eclipse on Nissan 1 (3-20-15).
So what is the point? The point is God has set
heavenly bodies (stars, planets, etc.) in the universe partly as a means to
speak "prophetic timings" to us (see Genesis 1:14 and Psalm
19:1-6). Blood moons are one of those means and have been recorded thus
for millennium coinciding with key historical, prophetic events.
The time of Jesus' second coming, as prophesied in scripture, is connected to
blood moons occurring. See Joel 2:30-32; Luke 21:25;
Rev. 6:12. We are about to experience the only
four blood moon set of this century that will take place on four key Jewish
Feasts. What does this mean? What will take place historically?
Prophetically? The historic record indicates it will be of
significance. Pay attention!! Note: NASA says the
best time to view the blood moon is at 3:00 a.m.
As we celebrate Passover (on April 15) we see death
pass over and God's abundant life come to dwell. Exercise your Kingdom authority
this month. Jesus paid the ultimate price for us to walk in that
authority. As you do so, keep in mind that His
grace and favor are especially evidenced this month.
We also celebrate Easter/Resurrection Day this month
(April 20). Therefore, this is a time of resurrection----again, death to
life. It is a month to begin, or commence; a month of birthing. We
can trust in refuge for God's servants and traps for His enemies.
Lastly, the month of Nissan is the Shepherd's month.
Let us meditate on the following: You are my Shepherd, I will not
be afraid. You make me to dwell in peace; You are my light and the Lord of
my journey. Your rod and Your staff comfort me. So, I'll sing in the
valley; shout from the mountain; drink from the river; and dance near the
fountain--of Your everlasting life and Your eternal love! Amen!
